emCache November event

We're thinking of holding a Quiz Night for a change, for the November event if no-one else has already made plans.

The format would be £1 pp entry, teams of 4-6 people (not counting children if they're too young to answer the questions!). Rounds on various topics plus puzzle sheets to do in between rounds.  Winning team gets prizes of wine/chocolates etc.

Venue and date to be announced, we're looking for somewhere with a PA system ideally (unless anyone has one we can borrow).  We need a function room that is available for free, with enough parking and either has or is close to somewhere with food available.  BYO drinks may be an option if there's no bar.

If anyone knows anywhere that might be suitable please let us know.

I could try and find out about Thringstone Community Centre - they have various rooms, and a bar. i don't know if they charge though.

Festival Inn in Trowell has a big room at the back they may loan, it has been known...

We're still looking for a venue that doesn't charge for room hire (the Swan now charge).  If anyone knows anywhere suitable please let us know.  If we can't find somewhere to have a quiz we'll just organise a normal pub event.

I am currently sat in the function room of The Ropewalk, Canning Circus, Nottingham.
Their function room hire is free

Apologies for the delay in organising this one... we'd rather do a quiz night closer to home so we'll try and organise one for next year when we find a suitable venue.

However we have booked the Kings Arms in Hathern for Tue 29th Nov, 7pm for a 'normal' pub event.  There won't be a raffle but there will be a different fundraising activity!

Pleased with the location since Hathern is on the Skylink bus route that runs Derby – East Midlands Airport – Loughborough – Leicester Timetable so i can have a drink

It's a shame it's not on a Saturday as there are plenty of caches around the area but I don't think it's going to be easy at night,did some around the area today which made me smile.
