We live and die by reviews, and in our three year experience some are posted by people with gripes and or an agenda. The way to look at them is what is the average opinion?

In a pub case they might have had a bad staff member?

Just a thought.

Wise words.

Most people are very vocal when they receive bad service although because good service is expected to be the 'norm' nobody feels the need to post about it. On a few outsourcing sites I get business from its not unknown for jobs to be posted that involve criticising someone's competitors. In a different direction many businesses are also willing to fork out for positive reviews, blog postings, bulk Facebook 'likes', Youtube subscribers, etc.

I think online reviews need to be taken with a pinch of salt.  In a past life (well, about 10 12 years ago) I left university and went onto a graduate training scheme with a "well known high street bank".  Whilst the job was hellish, something that still sticks with me is the idea that news of bad service spreads about ten times faster than good.  You receive the service you expect, or the experience, and you are not overwhelmed to say 'yep, that was fine'.  Receive good service and you might be pleased, maybe tell a friend.  Have a bad experience and you want to shout it to the world in any form you can.  Online holiday reviews are particularly notable for this...

It's not to say that you should ignore bad reviews, if there are lots of them, then that maybe flags something up, but personally, I wouldn't be bothered by one or two...

Do we have a date yet when the event will be.  Hoping it won't be 29th October as we are away and I know TAG is doing a big event in Northamptonshire.

We're away on the 22nd so we won't be able to attend or run a raffle (if one is wanted).  If anyone wants the tickets and prize box then PM us.

Won't be making this one unfortunately. I'm having the screws removed from my hip the day before, and even if I'm out of hospital (which I hope I will be), I suspect I won't feel like travelling far for a few days.

I may be away for this one.

@Just Alan - Is that a loose screw you are having removed? :D
