The emcache rolling quiz
« on: October 18, 2009, 12:10:55 AM »
* You ask a question.
* The first person to answer the question correctly (confirmed by the Q Setter), gets to ask the next question.

That's it. (If necessary I will arbitrate).

Any subject, any mode (pictures, text, but no cache puzzles please0, but I'll start in a geocaching way.

Q1.  "We often use GARMIN units for navigation.  How did the brand name come about?"

It's a combination of the names of the two people that found it: Gary Burrell and Dr Min Kao. Much like car engine performance specialists Cosworth.

Yes, I did burn my bridges a little bit there...

I'll stick to the GPS theme though, sort of...

Q2. "Some geocachers use their mobile phones for navigation; I use a Nokia. What was the name of Nokia's first ever 'mobile' phone?"

Hmmm.

The Mobira Senator was their first "car phone", but is that a mobile phone?

The Mobira Talkman was their first "transportable phone" and the Mobira Cityman 900 was their first handheld.

The web rat takes it!

I was after the senator, hence underlining ever. But I'd have accepted both.

Over to you...

Q3: On May 3rd, 2000 Dave Ulmer placed the first Geocache. One of the items listed in the original inventory is now a Travel Bug, what is this item?
Kudos for a link to its trackable page.

Another nice easy question:

What is the oldest (archived or unarchived) cache in the UK?
