On a much lighter note. The cache roll-over on the maps is very sharp now. Used to be hit and miss whether it would appear at all.

I always used the open street map as it has foot paths  and as for sat maps if you are using a phone with the GC App it still gives sat maps as I used it this afternoon on my Iphone, but if you have Maps on ypur smart phone it will give you a sat map just not with the cache marked on it. hope this helps

Thats the 1:50K maps sorted, are the 1:25K ones out there as well?

Don't think that there is an easy way as the macro is using Google API via javascript and this means that overlays are put on the map.  You would need to use a static API call rather than the dynamic one used by Javascript.

I have never printed from MyCachEyeit but you can, I set it to use OS maps, link to the macro:

Like that GSAK Google maps macro for PQs!!  Thanks for the link.

Had this dual map macro pointed out to me recently:  http://gsak.net/board/index.php?showtopic=14880&st=0&#entry101337, very handy for pin-pointing individual caches as it includes street view.

However, I'm feeling a bit thick when it comes to greasemonkey, as that's a whole new area for me.  Think I've installed it, but how do you go about adding the scripts?  A bit of an idiot's guide would be appreciated, please...

If you have Firefox you will need to install Greasemonkey Go Here and click "Add To Firefox" it will download you may be asked if you want to install it say yes, you may also need to restart firefox now.

Now click on the link to the script you want to add, there are two around at the moment that add OS Maps and the other Satellite view, you will get a pop-up box asking if you want to install this script click Install, repeat for the other script then you may or may not need to restart Firefox.

Since chrome now supports scripts on its own you should just be able to click on the links to the scripts and  click Install then click ok in the warning you get in the bottom left then click Install again.

the attached pics show how it looks in both when you have done it right.

I noticed today that the Geocaching Map Enhancement script has been updated so you only need one script to add the following maps:-

Bing Maps
Bing Aerial
Google
Google satellite
Google Terrain
OS

Also added is a scale legend which has options for miles/kilometers etc

The new script is version 0.5.2 and can be found at http://userscripts.org/scripts/show/109145

I installed it over the old one with no problems.

Edit just noticed you can turn on London street maps thinking geoibsons will find that of use.
