Problems accessing geocaching.com

Since I came back from London last night, I have been unable to access geocaching.com or the groundspeak forums, I just get the generic cannot display the webpage message.

It's the same in IE, Firefox and Chrome.

It's the same from any PC or wirelessly connected smartphone

It's not blocked by my Firewall

I can't ping geocaching.com (get timed out message)

So that seems to confirm it's not blocked at my Firewall

I've flushed the DNS cache

I've power cycled the PC and hub

Anybody got anything else to suggest trying

In the mean time you could try connecting through a proxy server.

I can't get to any from here as the silly University block them all.  So, I don't know

That will be a work filtering policy, a different issue to this one I think.

Just done a full router reset. Same issue. Didn't expect it to fix the problem, but worth a try.

So the problems all come from one of the RIPE  blocks (195/8).  That is a pretty big interwebs problem if that has broken and there is nothing we can do about that.

According to RIPE "66.150.160.0/32 is 100% globally visible" so I have no idea what the problem is here. I will keep digging...

Yes, Websense is the blocker, and I can never get on the GC forums, although encache and the GAGB seem to slip through the censor's net

Just tried a couple of proxy's, proxy.org won't connect to gc.com, submit3.info will connect, but dumps loads of other rubbish on the screen.  Just trying unblockit.info, but it's painfully slow.

 I wonder if gc.com has got itself on a spam blacklist somewhere.

Possibly, but I doubt it more than one user would have been caught out.  Have you tired the API in GSAK?

Given up on proxys, as they don't like the https part when you log in. I can't cope with waiting 60 secs plus per page.
