Suggested by me. I'm FOREVER closing windows....If you want them to open in a new window just hold cntrl whilst you click the link.

Simples. Please vote to make them open in the same window. Thanks.

Of all the forums i'm a member of this is the only one that opens new windows/tabs when you click links and i'm forever closing the damn things.

Some of us dont like it opening a new window.  If it didnt do it automatically then those that want it to open a new window can get it to do so by just holding the ctrl key down when they click the link.  However those that dont want it to open a new window cannot stop it happening when it does it automatically.  Which means you have to endlessly close windows.

As things stand at the moment those that dont want it lose out.  If it was changed so that it didnt do it automatically everybody wins because everyone can control whether or not it opens in a new window.  Maybe a lot of people just dont know that holding the ctrl key down makes it open a new window.  So maybe its just a case of educating people?

I like it opening a new window tbh, BUT a right click on the link gives the choice, so I have voted accordingly!!

My guess is that the original purpose was to keep folks within the emcache domain, which makes perfect sense. If it's an external link I don't mind at all having it open in a new tab.

However posts on this forum should open in the same window.....IMHO

If changed that is what will happen. Internal links in the same, external in a new window/tab.

Existing links (before 10:05:31 AM today) will still open in a new window.  Links copied and pasted in will open in a new window. 

Only links automatically generated when somebody posts will open in the same window.

If you really want a link to open in the same window use
