Insulting when you came from less than nothing, but you put a smile on the end so I'll read it as such.

I left Eastwood Comprehensive early with no qualifications, by 21 was five figures in debt.

I wont tell you the rest because I wouldn't like to be accused of bragging. But I carved my path in life entirely on my own.

edit: sorry but if you knew the truth you might not wonder why I took exception to your post and rewrote this 14 times.

I was beginning to think you were the star of made in Chelsea! you did also say you live in the usa for six months per year and as you said you have been on here for a week solid!  :) :)
I put two smiles this time so you would know im a really nice person!

See if I was rich then I would find a speed trap and go passed it as fast as possible just for fun!

Over the 24 years or so that I have been driving, I've racked up somewhere in the region of 800,000 miles, and have had two tugs.  The first I was doing 46 in a 40 when I just wasn't awake and concentrating - and did the speed awareness course.
The second time I was doing 59 in a 40 on the A610 (Ikea dual carriageway) just after it had been reduced from a 70 to a 40, and I just hadn't noticed the change, but I was followed by an unmarked car.  Fortunately he had the decency to wait until my average dropped below 60 as I approached the motorway roundabout otherwise it would have been 6 points instead of 3!  Turned out the copper in the car was a biker, so he had a little sympathy  ;D

I recon they must have been patrolling that, the b######s because a mate of mine got done the same. You know WHY they did this?

Because of the pedestrian death toll on the road....But wait.....there's no pavements......how are there pedestrians?

It's because of suicide jumpers from the "rainbow bridge" as it's locally known.

Lots of death on the road = lower the speed limit.

Stupid much?

The copper did actually say that the speed limit had been lowered to 40 because of suicides from the bridge.   it sucks.

Lets see... I can do 70 on this road, but now if I do 70, I'll get done because some numpty wants to jump off a bridge.  What the HECK has that got to do with me ????

Sorry, one of my pet rants, and you hit it nicely on the head Sven!

Lets club together and buy sides for the bridge! then we can put the speed limit back up!

That is one of the stupidest speed limits around here.  I though it had a lower speed limit to stop numptys ploughing into the back of the queue that develops at the M1 roundabout and on bank holidays heading for Ikea.

If its because of suicide jumpers from the bridge its totally ridiculous.  I and most of the drivers alond there dont stick to the speed limit.

I know of another short dual carriageway section that is a 30 and the highways authority dont think it is.  Even the police along that stretch dont stick to the speed limit.

I always do 40 along there and 50 in the bit further along, simply because I know they have regular patrols along there (I know that NOW! :) ), and the amount of drivers that swerve out late because they are going much faster and come close to taking me out, or give me headlight flashes, or give me the finger as they overtake simply because I am going at the speed limit is quite frightening.
I genuinely think 40 is a dangerously low speed for part of that section.  Nearer the motorway roundabout I could agree with it due to the queues.   (The typical lets lower the speed limit rather than sort out the congestion issue, but hey ho!)
I am actually quite surprised that they haven't lobbed Specs cameras along it by now...

I thought the reason for the limit was that there is no central barrier...
